- Ongoing representation of federal court-appointed receiver in extensive litigation designed to recover investor monies from fraudulent Ponzi schemes.
- Represented two minority shareholders of large food corporation in multi-jurisdiction litigation challenging propriety of reverse stock split and corporate governance. Corporation paid clients $10.76/share at time of transaction. Obtained $37.00/share (additional $2.2 million) through settlement on tenth day of trial that I co-chaired with California counsel.
- Defended several computer programmers and management personnel accused of misappropriating trade secret and copyright information from two large defense contractors and using such information to start competive technology business.
- Took client’s fraudulent transfer case to trial and gained not only a sizable judgment but also “alter ego” liability against individual shareholder of defendant corporation.
- Successfully resolved gender discrimination employment complaint against for-profit and non-profit Texas corporations.
- Took client’s business fraud case to trial and gained a 12-0 jury verdict and significant monetary and punitive damages.
- Defended client’s furniture import business from Chinese corporation seeking $2 million based on claims of breach of contract and trade secret misappropriation. Chinese corporation dismissed lawsuit without any payment of any kind.
- Successfully defended accounting firm from trust and corporation seeking over $1 million based on claims of negligent misrepresentation, breach of third-party beneficiary contract and professional negligence.
- Co-authored summary judgment motion that defeated Mexican corporation’s multi-million-dollar claims against Wal-Mart for RICO violations and unfair competition in the distribution and sale of instant soup.
- Successfully defended debtor-in-possession California corporation from $60 million contract claim concerning extensive real estate located in Mexico.
- Gained summary judgment of female student’s high-profile claim of gender discrimination (against high school football coach) on behalf of large California school disctrict.
